Reports to: FSO
Primary Purpose:
Works as team member within the Industrial Security Unit (ISU), an element of the Operational Support Unit (OSU). The ISU provides security related services to several cleared contractor companies within the Blackwater Worldwide family.
Essential Functions:
•Inviting candidates for security clearance into the Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (e-QIP).
•Assisting contractor employees/independent contractors (consultants) in preparing security clearance/eligibility paperwork (may be online or hard copy). Assistance routinely may be in person, telephonically or via email.
•Screening contractor employee/independent contractor (consultant) completed Personnel Security Questionnaire’s (PSQ’s) for completeness, accuracy and continuity prior to submission to the U. S. Gov’t for investigation.
•Matching associated hard copy forms/documents (fingerprints/signature pages) with electronically submitted forms.
•Tracking progress of open investigations through to adjudication. Communicating adjudicative decisions to ISU supervisor/candidate/internal program management as necessary.
•Making necessary database entries documenting each step of the clearance process.
•Creations and maintenance of neat, organized and accurate security files.
Required Education/Experience:
Excellent “Customer Service” (Communication) skills via telephone, email and in person. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple “cases” simultaneously. Ability to use Internet based U. S. Gov’t websites and databases. (DOD JPAS, OPM Portal, Selective Service System, etc.) Ability to obtain a U. S. Gov’t security clearance.
Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization (including management, peers, team members and customer-base). Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion. Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process. Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
Working Conditions: Work is based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Normal work hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 to 4:30.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry file boxes and other awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs, including up and down stairs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday. Must be able to talk, see, and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
