Las cosas que haga AQMI con españoles me preocupan mucho más a nivel narcotráfico, el que haya españoles de origen magrebí comprando cocaína en Marruecos para enviarla a España, y cárteles formados por españoles operen en Malí... eso si que acojona.

Parece que nos olvidamos de la que liaron en Mumbay un puñado de tíos que contaron con el apoyo de la mafia local para conseguir armas, explosivos, información de objetivos y demás. Imaginar el coste que tiene la protección de AQMI para subir la cocaína que llega a Guinea Bissau hasta Marruecos y cruzarla en planeadoras y avionetas hacia España. Más de un grupo de narcotraficantes estaría encantado de dejar un par de chalets en Cádiz o Málaga, con armas y vehículos dentro, a cambio de que un transporte les saliera gratis.

Al Qaida recluta a más europeos

El contraespionaje francés ha detectado la presencia de un número creciente de europeos en los campos de entrenamiento de Al Qaida en la frontera entre Pakistán y Afganistán. Según una nota informativa interna de la Direction Centrale du Renseignement Intérieur (DCRI), más de un centenar de europeos de diversas nacionalidades, entre ellos 14 franceses, habrían recibido desde hace meses una formación especial en el manejo de explosivos y armamentos.

A juicio de la DCRI se trata de europeos de raza blanca y convicciones religiosas, unidos por el odio contra Europa, prestos a entrar en acción en el momento oportuno.

Giro en la amenaza terrorista
Varios especialistas estiman que tales revelaciones marcan un aparente giro en la evolución de la amenaza terrorista contra los países europeos. Tradicionalmente, los miembros de Al Qaida eran musulmanes fanáticos y barbudos. Los europeos que han recibido entrenamiento en Pakistán o Afganistán tienen un físico muy diferente: son europeos capaces de camuflar su fanatismo vistiendo como occidentales.

“Estos nuevos miembros de Al Qaida, afirma la nota interna de la DCRI, quizá sean más peligrosos. Y todo parece indicar que están dispuestos a entrar en acción en el momento que ellos o las distintas facciones del islamismo subversivo lo consideren oportuno”.

París y las grandes ciudades francesas continúan siendo un blanco privilegiado, a jucio de la DCRI, cuyas filtraciones coinciden con la detención, en el sur de Argelia, de un grupúsculo de Al Qaida del Magreb Islámico (AQMI) que proyectaba atentados en varias capitales europeas.

Identificados 211 extranjeros en las filas de AQMI

Las fuerzas de seguridad han desmantelado una red terrorista en la region de Aures y ha identificado unos 211 extranjeros que operan en las filas de Al Qaeda en el Magreb Islamico, de acuerdo con el diario El Watan y El Khabar. Estos extranjeros son de Mali, Libia, Mauritania, Túnez, Sudán, Marruecos, Nigeria, Guinea Bissau y Burkina Faso.

La operación, llevada a cabo a finales de diciembre, dio como resultado la detención de catorce terroristas entre ellos dos mauritanos. Uno de ellos era Ibrahim Mohamed Ould Ouldna presentado como el "mufti" (exégesis) de AQMI, que se había unido a las filas de AQMI en Argelia en 2008. Es conocido por el seudónimo de Abu Anas Chenguit. Había llegado a Argelia con el proyecto de reorganizar las células terroristas.

Su confesión llevó a la primera detención de otro islamista, Mustafá Debchi conocido por Abu Mohamed Al Othmani. Este ingeniero en electrónica fue detenido en el puerto de Annaba mientras se preparaba para embarcarse a Europa con el fin de desarrollar nuevas células terroristas, dijo la fuente. Sus revelaciones llevaron a la detención de todos los miembros de la red en Argelia.

Doce sospechosos argelinos fueron tambien detenidos. Estos son conocido como Abu Harith Hamadouche Aissam, activo desde mayo de 2008; Djouad Abu Ahmed, dijo Ibrahim Al Wahrani en las filas desde junio de 2006, Hamdan dijo Khaled Abou El Kaakaa Wahrani, habiéndose unido al GSPC en 2005, dijo Abu Chouikh Djillali Dher Lemdani, contratado en 2006; Besseghir Fethi El Zoubi dijo Wahrani, contratado en 2006, El Selmane Yakutia, en las filas del GIA en 1995 antes de unirse al GSPC y miembro de la dirección de Katibat El Forkan evolución en Batna, Lasbahani Djamel, dijo Abu Abdallah Al Wahrani, contratado en 2006; Mettouchi Nasreddine Okasha, dijo Abu Al Bara, contratado en 2006, dijo Abu Yahia Mokhtar Khalkhal Koutada, miembro del GIA en 1994, antes de unirse al GSPC, responsable de la explotación explosivos dentro de la falange El Fath El Moubine; Menzer Zine El Abidine dijo Yasser Abu Othman El, contratado en 2006. PARIS- three hostages kidnapped in Niger in September 2010 and released this week will be received Saturday by French President Nicolas Sarkozy after more than five months in the Sahel desert in the hands of Al Qaeda in Islamic Maghreb (AQIM).

* The French Françoise Larribe, the Madagascan Jean-Claude Rakotorilalao and the Togolese Alex Awando were released on the night of Thursday to Friday in an area near the junction of the borders between Algeria, Mali and Niger, operation theater of AQIM.

"President of the Republic will receive at 2:30 pm (1:30 pm GMT), the three hostages and their families," said sources close to the Head of State.

France Info radio said at midday that a Falcon plane of the French Republic repatriating from Niamey the French hostage, Françoise Larribe, had landed at Villacoublay military airport near Paris.

An ambulance then left the airport, the radio added. Aged about sixty, Mrs. Larribe suffers from cancer.

The three people released are part of a group of seven hostages kidnapped by AQIM in northern Niger. Released in NigerNiamey, said Friday the French presidency.

No official details were given on conditions of release or the fate of four other hostages, all men and French.

According to a source close to the Malian and Nigerian mediation involved in the negotiations, a ransom was paid in exchange for their release. We did not know the amount and who had paid.

AL-QAEDA'S offshoot in North Africa has snatched surface-to-air missiles from an arsenal in Libya during the civil strife there, Chad's President says.

Idriss Deby Itno did not say how many surface-to-air missiles were stolen, but told the African weekly Jeune Afrique that he was "100 per cent sure" of his assertion.

"The Islamists of al-Qaeda took advantage of the pillaging of arsenals in the rebel zone to acquire arms, including surface-to-air missiles, which were then smuggled into their sanctuaries in Tenere," a desert region of the Sahara that stretches from northeast Niger to western Chad, Deby said in the interview.

"This is very serious. AQIM is becoming a genuine army, the best equipped in the region," he said.

His claim was echoed by officials in other countries in the region who said that they were worried that al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) might have acquired "heavy weapons", thanks to the insurrection.

"We have sure information. We are very worried for the sub-region," a Malian security source who did not want to be named said.

AQIM originated as an armed Islamist resistance movement to the secular Algerian government.

It now operates mainly in Algeria, Mauritania, Mali and Niger, where it has attacked military targets and taken civilian hostages, particularly Europeans, some of whom it has killed.

"We have the same information," about heavy weapons, including SAM 7 missiles, a military source from Niger said.

"It is very worrying. This overarming is a real danger for the whole zone," he added

"AQIM gets the weapons in two ways; people go and look for the arms in Libya to deliver them to AQIM in the Sahel, or AQIM elements go there themselves."

Elsewhere in the interview, Chad's president backed the assertion by his neighbour and erstwhile enemy Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi that the protests in Libya have been driven in part by al-Qaeda.

"There is a partial truth in what he says," Deby said.

"Up to what point? I don't know. But I am certain that AQIM took an active part in the uprising."

After years of tension between the two nations, which were at war during part of the 1980s, Deby has more recently maintained good relations with Gaddafi.

The Chadian leader described the international military intervention in Libya, launched a week ago by the United States, France and Britain, as a "hasty decision".

"It could have heavy consequences for the stability of the region and the spread of terrorism in Europe, the Mediterranean and the rest of Africa," he cautioned.

Deby denied assertions that mercenaries had been recruited in Chad to fight for Gaddafi, though some of the several thousand Chad nationals in Libya may have joined the fight "on their own".

Era desde luego una de las posibilidades, que Gadafi como represalia:

-Financiara ataques terroristas en Europa
-Armara sin control, se pueden colar terroristas entre mercenarios.

Me inclino a pensar que más que terroristas infiltrándose entre lo mercenarios (es un hijo de Gaddafi el que los movió hacia Libia al principio del conflicto) o que Gaddafi les ceda armamento, los de AQMI han ido allí o han movido sus redes para hacerse con todas las armas que los rebeldes van recuperando.

Las fotografías de libios recogiendo toneladas de munición me recuerdan a las primeras semanas tras la caida del régimen de Saddam. Va a haber una importante cantidad de bolsas con dinero en efectivo circulando por la zona los próximos años para comprar todos los misiles portátiles tierra-aire y los cohetes RPG de última generación que andan guardados en sótanos y enterrados por el desierto.

Los libios que saltan encima de tanques destruidos por la aviación OTAN para conseguir recuerdos o salir en las fotos no importan mucho, ahora, llenar pick-ups enteras con munición... eso son palabras mayores.



Las agencias de prensa habrán vendido unas cuantas fotos en alta resolución para fichar esto caretos...
