Uno de los motivos del levantamiento de los militares en Bissau fue que les iban a enviar tropas angoleñas de "apoyo" al país.
Si la CEDEAO ha decidido enviar 500 militares a Guinea Bissau y si siguen siendo angoleños, no tiene buenas perspectivas. Y si no lo son 500 me parecen pocos para unos militares cabreados.

Ataques piratas durante el mes de Abril del 2012 en CEDEAO / África.

Durante el mes de Abril del 2.012, se han producido cuatro ataques piratas en la costa oeste de África. Todos ellos en Togo en las cercanías de Lome.

Los ataques tenían por objetivo el robo menor.
Las patrullas conjuntas en el Golfo de Guinea en la costa de Benin y Nigeria con el apoyo de Francia , EUU y el Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU esta teniendo buenos resultados .

Al parecer los piratas que actuaban anteriormente desde Benin se han desplazado a Togo por la presencia de embarcaciones de patrullaje en su costa.
Todos los ataques se produjeron con poca intensidad de luz de luna y tres de ellos al principio de la pleamar, lo que puede indicar que se oculten en la cercana laguna de Keta

Análisis y previsiones:
La resolución de la ONU invitó además a esos países ribereños a realizar rápidamente un encuentro conjunto de Estados del Golfo de Guinea, para elaborar una estrategia regional de lucha contra la piratería, en cooperación con la Unión africana.
Benin ha afrontado una escalada reciente de ataques en sus aguas que amenazo su economía estrechamente dependiente de las actividades portuarias. Este fenómeno es lleva mas tiempo produciéndose en Nigeria, primer productor de petróleo de África.
El aumento de los ataques contra buques en el Golfo de Guinea hizo subir las primas de seguros, reduciendo hasta en dos tercios el tráfico en ciertos puertos del Golfo en momentos en que los países del oeste de África esperaban duplicar su producción petrolera en los próximos 10 años al doble.
Gran parte de este importante porcentaje (2,2 millones de barriles) proviene de Nigeria, junto con Ghana, de la docena que conforman el Golfo.
En el Delta del Níger, la unión de petróleo, pobreza y armas crea un resultado de que en ocasiones unos simples pescadores opten por coger un arma y ser piratas de una noche.

Ten robbers in a boat approached an anchored, came alongside and tried to board and anchored product tanker. Alert duty officer raised alarm and informed Togo navy and directed the search light towards the boat resulting in the boat moving towards another vessel in the anchorage. Later another boat with six robbers approached the tanker at high speed. Alarm raised and crew alerted. Seeing crew alertness and the razor wire rigged the robbers moved away. The Master heaved up anchor and proceeded to a safe distance.

Two robbers armed with machine guns boarded an anchored tanker and entered the engine room and accommodation.
Alert crew raised the alarm and all crew retreated into the citadel. Attempts to contact the authorities failed but the sister ship of the vessel in the vicinity relayed the area message to the Togo navy. A Naval team boarded vessel for investigation. No injuries to crew.

Two boats with 8 men each approached an anchored oil tanker, one forward position and one aft. Spotlights were directed on two boats to track their movements. Informed Master and Togo navy. Long ropes were sighted when they come close to board but deck watchkeepers dettered their boarding. The boatmen began to move away when they were informed that togo navy has been informed. Later spotted a boat with 10 men. searchlights were focused on the boat. Long ropes were sighted when they came near to starboard qtr. The boat moved away when they were warned about Togo navy.

Combates desde el Lunes en Bamako. Parece que soldados leales al depuesto Presidente Amadou Timani Toure han atacado zonas de Bamako y alrededores. Se han librado combates cerca de la emisora de Televisión que siguen controlando los integrantes del Consejo Militar en el poder. Los combates parecen haberse cobrado 27 victimas, sobre todo durante el ataque al cuartel de la Guardia Presidencial. El Consejo MIlitar dice que entre los atacantes hay mercenarios extranjeros. También informó una Fuente cercana a Reuters que se estaba peinando la ciudad buscando a los atacantes que se habían infiltrado entre la población. También informa de la huida de la población de las zonas afectadas, a pie y a bordo de vehículos.

El Grupo Monoteista y de Combate en el oeste de äfrica da un mes al Gobierno de Argelia para que atienda sus peticiones. Si no las vidas del Diplomático y sus 6 ayudantes corren un gran peligro ( خطرا كبيرا) según informa el portal Anbaa Info. El secuestro se produjo el 8 de Abril pasado. El portavoz del grupo Adnan Abu Walid "el Saharahui" dijo que habían pedido a Argelia la liberación de presos yihadistas en Argelia y 15 millones de Euros. Argelia ha rechazado la petición.
Igualmente amenazan con un nuevo ataque a Argelia similar al que se perpetró en Tamanraset, por dos hombres Maliense y Árabe respectivamente.

70 soldados de Burkina ayer y poco a poco hasta 600.
Este grupo lo formaran tropas de CEDEAO que iran sustituyendo a los de Angola como queria el anterior presidente en funciones.

BAMAKO, Mali - U.S. Army jumpmasters assigned to Joint Special Operations Task Force-Trans Sahara conducted a Basic Airborne Refresher course May 7, 2010 for African paratroopers as part of the Flintlock 10 special operations exercise in an effort to improve capacity building of African forces for future airborne missions.

Airborne soldiers from Mali, Senegal and Burkina Faso took part in the training aimed at adherence to standards and attention to detail for safe airborne operations.

The training focused on airborne tasks such as pre-jump (proper exit, check body position and count), demonstration of modified parachute landing falls (front right, front left, rear right and rear left), and mock door training (static line control).

Emphasizing the importance of safety, through the aid of interpreters, the jumpmasters trained the parachutists according to standards of the U.S. Airborne School.

According to U.S. Army Sergeant 1st Class Christopher Pair, JSOTF-TS jumpmaster, the paratroopers from the African armies brought a level of experience and expertise to the refresher training.


"Just like every other country we (U.S.) all have our own techniques when conducting airborne operations," Sergeant Pair said. "The African airborne soldiers have very similar techniques to ours which made it easier to train."


For American parachutists, the Basic Airborne Refresher (BAR) course is mandatory for all airborne Soldiers who have not made a jump within the last six months. One of the biggest surprises to the American jumpmasters was the number of jumps their African paratrooper counterparts had completed.


"I had a talk with my jumpmaster counterpart from Mali and was surprised they jump more than most of us," Pair said. "Most of the jumpers were very well trained and all were very receptive to what the instructors had to say."


The training began with the jumpmasters providing instruction on proper rigging procedures for the ALICE Pack. Under the watchful eyes of the jumpmasters, each jumper was checked for deficiencies and was given an explanation on the consequences of improper assembly.


Standing side-by-side with his Malian jumpmaster counterparts, Pair demonstrated the correct sequence for the jumpmaster personnel inspection and gave the signature 'slap on the thigh' to each jumper as a sign of approval.


At the conclusion of the BAR, Pair was impressed in the leadership, confidence and proficiency of his African paratrooper counterparts.


"I actually got the chance to train two of the Malian jumpmasters on our (U.S.) sequence, and they reciprocated with their sequence," he said. "The hardest part of the Basic Airborne Refresher course had to be the language barrier between all of our countries, but the training was executed without a flaw."


Exercise Flintlock 10, conducted by Special Operations Command Africa's JSOTF-TS, is a joint multinational exercise to improve information sharing at the operational and tactical levels across the Saharan region while fostering increased collaboration and coordination. It is focused on military interoperability and capacity-building for U.S. European Partner Nations and select units in Northern and Western Africa.
