Twenty Taliban militants laid down their arms in western Badghis province on Friday, local officials said
Nearly 20 Taliban fighters including their commander Mullah Abdullah, laid down their guns and surrendered to local authorities in Qads district of Badghis province on Friday and return to normal life, Abdul Jabar Saleh, the police chief of Farah told TOLOnews reporter.
Insurgents are have active in the some villages of Badghis, they usually target foreign and Afghan forces, using improvised devices.
The Taliban have not commented yet.
More than 630 insurgents surrendered to government in the past two months and joined the peace process.
